The CBORC will hold its Annual Meeting at the Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick, WA, on Tuesday, November 12th, from 1:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (before the PNVA Conference).
We are pleased to invite all CBORC contributors to an upcoming meeting where we will share updates and research reports from funded projects. The meeting will also allow contributors to provide input on future research directions.
To foster a broader discussion, we are opening the meeting to everyone, including potential contributors (please limit to 1 – 2 people per farm/entity). However, please note that non-members will be asked to leave the room following the presentations, before the funding approval discussion.

The Columbia Basin Research Committee was formed to fund research on onion production in the Columbia Basin of Washington and Oregon. The group’s overall objective is to serve onion growers in the region by addressing important production issues through research-based solutions.
This voluntary assessment program collects $5 per planted onion acre from grower members each year, to fund research for the following year (Voluntary Assessment and Membership Form). There is also an opportunity for allied industries to participate. NOTE: All information will remain confidential as to the amount and contributors.
CBORC was established in late 2015 by a group of onion producers from across the Columbia Basin, with the objective of creating a voluntary assessment program focused on localized onion production research. Our aim is to pool resources to achieve economies of scale and leverage additional support from Local, State, and Federal entities.
Over the past eight years, we have made significant strides in our mission. We've allocated over $293,000 towards localized research, maintained a modest assessment fee of $5 per acre of onion production, and effectively managed our operational costs.
